E-Safety

Today's pupils are growing up in an increasingly complex world, living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportuntiies but also challenges and risks.

At Broomfield School, we aim to equip pupils with the knowledge needed to make the best use of the internet and technology in a safe, considered and respectful way, so they are able to reap the benefits of the online world.

As a Rights Respecting School, we teach about children's rights and how to protect the rights of others. Article 17 of the CRC states - 'You have the right to get information  that is important to your well-being, from computers and other sources. Adults should make sure that the information you are getting is not harmful, and helps you find and understand the information you need'.

Online safety learning forms an integral part of our Schemes of Work for Computing and also PSHE. We also teach online safety through special events and opportunities such as Internet Safety Day.

Each month we send out an online safety newsletter. Please see the links below.
